My background is in painting and I have a degree in Fine Art.
I work in many mediums, always exploring pattern, colour and texture. Over the last two years I have specifically been developing new work with mosaics, using vintage china and ceramics I have made. This work is proving extremely popular. It is time consuming to make and often sells as quickly as I can make it.
I have started painting again and am enjoying exploring how my love of painting might find a way of sitting alongside my love of pattern and texture in the mosaics and maybe even alongside textiles. This is very unknown ground and hard to imagine how it might work, but that is very much how I like to work, always seeking new ways of developing the possibilities in what I do.
Crucially, amidst lots of careful cutting of china and mosaic making, and late night painting, I am taking time to understand the different ways I want to show and sell this work. Letting my real inspiration emerge.
One date is set though, following on from the great success of my Devon show last autumn with Lydia Corbett, I will be showing again this September in Devon. More information on this will follow.
